Rockwall, TX (June 25, 2024) – On May 28, 2024, the Rockwall County Commissioners Court was scheduled to acknowledge the unanimous approval of Dr. Amy Anderson as superintendent of schools by the Royse City ISD School Board. However, the attention of the County Commissioners shifted to dealing with the aftermath of a spring storm that brought strong winds and heavy rain to town.
Now that summer is here and we anticipate the upcoming school year, the County Commissioners would like to share the proclamation presented today by Commissioner Dana Macalik.
PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Dr. Anderson holds a doctoral degree in education and a master’s from Texas A&M University-Commerce and completed her undergraduate studies at Howard Payne University; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Anderson is a knowledgeable and experienced district administrator with direct experience in fast-growing schools; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Anderson, who has been serving as the interim superintendent since the retirement of longtime superintendent Kevin Worthy in December, is now the first female superintendent in Rockwall County history; and
