Bridging the gap between generations

Rockwall Meals on Wheels gala is crucial step to building Senior Life Center

ROCKWALL, TX (Aug. 21, 2024) Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County welcomes the community to gather around the table for a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between generations, share stories, and create unforgettable memories – all while enjoying a delicious meal, silent and live auction, and dancing to live music by the Royal Dukes Band.

Your presence at the Meals on Wheels 7th Annual Gala on Saturday, Oct. 5 – A Meal to Remember – is more than just a social event. It’s a crucial step towards MOWSS’ mission of building a Senior Life Center. Your participation is not just a donation but a vital part of making this event a success and bringing MOWSS’ closer to its vision.

In October 2023, the Mabee Foundation out of Midland, TX awarded MOWSS a challenge grant. They will award MOWSS $1.29MM when an additional $1.1MM is raised by Oct. 10, 2024. Your donations, pledges, and in-kind services are not just contributions; they are the key to meeting this challenge and bringing MOWSS closer to breaking ground on this transformational project.

MOWSS makes it their mission to ensure clients’ needs are anticipated and resolved. From young to old, MOWSS volunteers consistently provide a smile that is given and received during Thursday meal delivery, Sunshine Snack Monday, Ani-meal delivery, a visit from an Allan’s Companion, or a Weekend Warrior team member.

MOWSS wishes to recognize the years of support given by the gala’s Title Sponsor, Interstate Classic Cars. For more information, contact Margie VerHagen at 214-405-8522 or Maureen Cook for gala tickets and sponsorships at 214-356-6472.
