Dennis Lewis poses with Casey Troxclair, American Subcontractors Association-North Texas Chapter President, after being recognized by his peers in the construction industry.
Rockwall leader recognized for decades of service to the construction industry and community
ROCKWALL, TX (July 18, 2025) The American Subcontractors Association – North Texas Chapter (ASA-NTC) has presented its distinguished Impact Award to Rockwall’s own Dennis Lewis, Vice President of Potter Concrete, Ltd., an Irving-based concrete subcontractor. The honor — awarded only four times in ASA-NTC’s 56 year history — recognizes an individual or company that has made a lasting, positive impact on the DFW construction industry and the community.
For Lewis — a leader known for his advocacy, integrity, and servant heart — the award came as a complete surprise. His wife, Clarissa, was in on the secret, but Dennis was caught off guard when his name was called at the ASA’s annual awards night in Fort Worth.
“There are very few times I’ve been speechless — and this is one of them,” Dennis said at the podium. “ASA is a work of love for me and Potter Concrete. Sometimes companies start with a purpose — to make a difference, to give back — but somewhere along the way, they lose sight of that and it becomes just about money. Those are the companies that fail. In your business and personal life, have a purpose. And don’t let money steer you away from it.” Dennis recently stated how honored and humbled he is to receive the award especially since it is given by his peers in the construction industry.

Dennis joined ASA in 1993, eventually serving on its Board of Directors and leading as chapter president in both 1999 and 2013. He played a key role in launching the ASA Futures Leaders program and remains an active champion for the industry, frequently seen in Austin lobbying and testifying on legislative matters. Today, he continues his service at the national level as a member of the ASA National Task Force on Ethics in Construction — a role that reflects his commitment to elevating standards across the industry.
“Dennis has been a proven leader throughout his career and in his personal life,” said Casey Troxclair, ASA-NTC President. “Anyone who knows him would agree — he’s one of the best humans you’ll ever meet.”

Lewis’s impact reaches well beyond the jobsite. An active member of Lakepointe Church, he is deeply engaged in his community. After first serving on the Rockwall City Council from 2012 until being term-limited in 2018, Dennis was appointed again in 2022, elected in 2023, and re-elected in 2025. He has also served as Mayor Pro Tem and contributes his leadership on numerous boards and committees, including the Rockwall County Planning Consortium, the Rockwall Emergency Services Corporation, the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation, the Hotel/Motel Tax Committee, and the City’s Art Commission.
In addition, Dennis proudly serves as Chairman of the Board of Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County.
A graduate of Texas A&M University, Dennis and Clarissa moved to Rockwall in 1993, raising their three children — all graduates of Rockwall High School — in the community they continue to serve.
Whether advocating for ethical construction practices, shaping the future of Rockwall, or serving his church and neighbors, Dennis Lewis leads with purpose — and with heart. The ASA Impact Award recognizes not just a career, but a legacy of service to industry, community, and faith.
