HEATH, TX (Aug. 24, 2025) Recent events have been unusual for our community, and I want to assure everyone that we are working diligently and using all available public safety and investigative resources available to us to resolve these issues.
The first incident involves antisemitic flags that were hung on Rockwall-Heath High School early on Saturday morning, August 16. Band students reported the flags to our agency at 6:30 a.m. Our officers responded immediately, and the flags were removed by 7 a.m.
Investigative work also began immediately on Saturday and continues to this day. Part of this process included meeting with Rockwall ISD representatives on Monday following the incident to discuss information that had been gathered to that point and identify other possible avenues to pursue. We continue working closely with Rockwall ISD and partner law enforcement agencies intensely to investigate this terrible act.
Our department has maintained an enhanced presence at the Heath-Rockwall High School since that event occurred providing a higher level of security for our community and more specifically, the children, teachers, parents and others that visit the high school.
We will continue working this issue until the suspect or suspects are identified and held fully accountable for their actions. We will not tolerate this behavior in our community.
We are also working around the clock in response to four burglaries that have occurred in the past week. The most recent incident occurred in the Buffalo Creek subdivision, and all others occurred in the Heath Crossing area.
We understand the importance of resolving this as quickly as possible. To that end, our officers and detectives are working closely with our partner law enforcement agencies to investigate and solve these crimes.
As you can understand, both of these issues are under active investigations, and as such, you may not see many details on social media or the news at this time. I know you will agree that what is most important is for us to put a stop to any future incidents, bring the perpetrators to justice and keep our community safe.
What you can do is remain vigilant. If you see something unusual or suspicious, do not hesitate to call us. Please call our non-emergency number, 972-771-7724 or 911.
Stay focused on keeping your property safe by:
Locking all the doors to your home and cars, even if you are home or if you are leaving to run a quick errand.
Use your home alarm system and monitor any notifications.
Ensure your security camera system is functioning properly and sending notifications.
We take these offenses seriously, and we appreciate everyone’s support.
We are committed to holding those responsible for these acts accountable.
Working together, we will continue to keep Heath one of the safest cities in Texas.
Sincerely,
Chief Brandon Seery
