Rockwall, TX (October 3, 2025) – Rockwall local, Rhyan Cannon has made it to the final rounds in Colossal’s Face of Halloween competition! The nationwide campaign raises funds and awareness for Starlight Children’s Foundation, whose mission is to make hospitals a little less scary for kids experiencing hospitalizations. The organization delivers happiness to seriously ill kids through toy deliveries, fun hospital wear, gaming, and more.
We heard from Rhyan and learned more about the competition and how she got involved.

What inspired you to enter the Face of Halloween competition, and what has the experience been like so far?
I’ve always enjoyed creating themed content, and Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays! I plan my entire year around crafting shoots inspired by iconic characters from movies and television — with the help of incredibly talented local photographers and makeup artists who help bring my visions to life.
I thought the competition would be a great way to express my love for the season! But once I learned about the charitable aspect with Starlight Children’s Foundation — I was even more inspired to get involved and share the campaign. It’s been such a rewarding experience so far, and I’m grateful for the support I’ve received along the way.
Why is Starlight Children’s Foundation important to you and your family?
The Starlight Children’s Foundation is an incredible organization supporting hospitalized children and their families. Having worked in the autism field for about a decade, I’ve witnessed firsthand how transformative programs like these can be for families in need.
Nearly all of my clients have required some form of hospital care and many families simply cannot afford additional out-of-pocket expenses. Often, families must prioritize care expenses over things like toys for birthdays or other special occasions, which adds to their stress. My younger brother is part of the autistic community, and so I’ve seen how crucial these types of grants and programs can be. This mission hits close to home, and I’m proud to help raise awareness for such a vital cause.
How has the Rockwall community shaped who you are today?
My family was incredibly fortunate to have access to programs like RISD’s Project Life, which helped my brother develop essential life skills, such as how to work at a job, manage daily tasks, and build independence. He has since graduated from the program, and it’s been amazing to see the progress he’s made. My brother also attended Marigold Learning Academy, a Rockwall-based ABA clinic where I began my career as a behavior therapist and started my journey in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The clinic works closely with families, to help educate them on available grants and resources.
Many families are unaware that programs like Starlight exist. That’s why I do my best to use my platform to share this information and advocate for those who may not have a voice. Rockwall has shaped me into someone who values community, awareness and action.
What has been the most memorable or rewarding part of this journey?
The recognition for my content — something I’ve spend most of my early 20s developing — has been incredibly rewarding! I’ve always had an eye for the strange and unusual, movies have had a very big influence on me. From makeup and costumes to the actors bring scripts to life, I’ve always been fascinated by every aspect of filmmaking. I’ve even participated in some on-set work.
Over the years, I’ve traveled to various filming locations — especially Halloween filming locations, which have always been my favorite. Two of the most memorable have been Halloweentown in St. Helens, Oregon and Salem, Massachusetts – both of which brought the magic of Halloween to life.
This competition has opened doors I never imagined, and I’m excited about the opportunities it could lead to — including the chance to meet Halloween icon Jamie Lee Curtis and other legends in the horror genre. I’d love to get that behind-the scenes perspective!

How can the Rockwall community support you in this competition and the cause it represents?
My siblings and I all attended Rockwall High School, and my family lives here and owned a local business for years. I love how proud and close-knit Rockwall is — a community that genuinely invests in its children and their future.

I feel incredibly privileged to have gone to High School here, where opportunities were available that may not have existed elsewhere. Being a Stingerette at Rockwall High School is one of my most cherished memories.
Our supporters at Siren Rock, our family business, rallied around us, especially during our themed events like our Halloween party and Oktoberfest, which were always so much fun and full of life. Events like those have shown me how powerful community support can be —and how much joy can come from creativity and connection.
My hope is that the Rockwall community will rally behind the competition – sharing my story and voting for me as this year’s Face of Halloween! Together, we can also amplify the mission of Starlight Children’s Foundation.

If you win, what would that achievement mean to you?
Winning would mean so much to me as a creator. I’d be honored to carry the Face of Halloween title for the next year and be able to use the title as a platform to continue spreading awareness for programs like Starlight.
The grand prize would help me be able to further my education and continue supporting local organizations and small businesses. I deeply admire entrepreneurs —especially my father — who build extraordinary businesses from the ground up. Watching him create taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and community impact. Being able to be a part of Siren Rock has been one of the most inspiring parts of my life — it was more than just a business — it was a community space where people could come together to celebrate, connect and make memories.
Supporting small businesses isn’t just about economics — I think it’s about building a strong community, fostering resilience, and celebrating those who have the courage to turn struggle into strength. They make something not just of themselves but for their community’s future. If I can use this opportunity to give back in a meaningful way, then that, to me, is the ultimate reward.
