Drink, Dine, Unwind: Unleashing the Good Life

Drink, Dine, Unwind: Unleashing the Good Life

There’s something about the start of a new year that makes you crave moments that feel both joyful and grounding — the kind that remind you how good simple things can be: great wine, live music, and a welcoming place to gather. That’s exactly how we began 2026 during a recent visit to Paws 4 Wine in Fate, a pet-friendly, U.S. Navy veteran-owned and operated boutique wine tasting venue complete with a dog park — and it couldn’t have been a more perfect way to unwind.

Presented by Kim Johnson and Maya Crowsey at Kimaya Consultants, the evening brought together a mix of familiar faces and new friends, all enjoying good conversation, great pours, and the country sounds of Brandon Bamburg. Add in the Cousins Maine Lobster food truck and you’ve got the kind of night that checks all the boxes for “Drink, Dine & Unwind.”

A birthday celebration for Nancy Flitcraft, co-owner of Paws 4 Wine along with her husband, Chris, added an extra layer of cheer to an already festive evening. We couldn’t help but smile at the adorable dog-shaped wine glass charms perched on our glasses. It’s those little, thoughtful details that make Paws 4 Wine feel so warm and personal.

We also loved browsing the pet products from Fate’s Magnolia Soap & Bath Co., available for purchase on site — including Belly Rub Rosé Dog “Wine” (watermelon-infused water), Magnolia Soap, and Magnolia Pet Purrrfume. Everything is locally handcrafted, plant-based, and free from phthalates and parabens — gentle enough for sensitive skin, babies, and pets alike.

Most of all, what made the evening special was the relaxed, welcoming environment — people and pets mingling together in a space that feels more like a neighborhood gathering than a venue.

Don’t miss their ‘Krewe of Cupid’ parade on Feb. 14 – a Valentine’s celebration with a Mardi Gras twist. To learn more or plan a visit, find Paws 4 Wine on Facebook or visit their website, paws4wine.com, or call 224-444-WINE (9463). They’re open Saturdays from 3–11 p.m., and by appointment.

Sometimes the best way to start the year is simply to slow down, sip something lovely, and spend time with good people — and at Paws 4 Wine, that’s exactly what you’ll find.
