We’ve sprung forward—and now it’s time to open the doors. Dodie’s Cajun Kitchen officially debuts at 11 a.m. Monday, March 9 with bold Cajun flavors, fresh seafood, and good times.
GREENVILLE, TX (March 8, 2026) — After much anticipation, Dodie’s Cajun Kitchen is proud to officially open its doors in Downtown Greenville at 11 a.m. Monday, March 9—bringing a bold taste of Louisiana and a lively, welcoming atmosphere to the heart of the city.
Located at 2205 Lee Street in the Greenville Farmers Market area (formerly Fatto a Mano Pizzeria), Dodie’s Cajun Kitchen is excited to serve up its signature blend of award-winning Cajun cuisine, fresh Gulf seafood, and Southern hospitality in a setting designed for gathering, celebrating, and making memories.
Owned by longtime North Texas restaurateur Mike McRae, Dodie’s is an extension of a family of beloved concepts known for great food, vibrant ambiance, and strong community ties. In addition to Dodie’s Cajun Diner at The Harbor on Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall, McRae owns his namesake restaurant, McRae’s American Bistro & Cocktails in East Dallas, and the legendary Stan’s Blue Note on Lower Greenville—Dallas’ oldest continuously operated bar. McRae was also the creative force behind the Sinatra-inspired fine dining and entertainment venue Table 13 in Addison and previous owner of Dick’s Last Resort Dallas.
At its Rockwall location, Dodie’s has earned a loyal following for its fresh seafood, rich gumbos, flavorful étouffées, and festive French Quarter flair—an experience now coming to Greenville.
“Our goal has always been to create a place where people come together—friends, families, neighbors—to enjoy great food and good times,” said McRae. “It’s about the energy, the atmosphere, and bringing a taste of Louisiana to Greenville.”
The Greenville restaurant has spent the past few weeks in a soft opening phase, allowing the team to train, fine-tune, and perfect every detail. Dodie’s has also secured its liquor license, meaning guests can now enjoy a full bar experience alongside their meal.
McRae shared a personal message to the community: “To our Greenville friends and neighbors, I want to sincerely apologize for the delay in our official opening and thank you for your patience,” he said. “We simply didn’t have the staff in place yet to deliver the level of service our guests deserve, and we didn’t want to disappoint. We wanted to take the time to get it right.”
“At the same time, I can’t say thank you enough for the incredible support we’ve already felt. The response from the Greenville community has been overwhelming—in the best way. The excitement has been intense, our dining room has been full during our soft opening, and when we launched our Facebook page, it grew to more than 2,000 followers in less than a month. Our hearts are truly full with the welcome we’ve received.”
General Manager James Wilkinson added: “We’ve had so much fun welcoming friends and family in for our soft open test runs—it’s really felt like a community effort,” said Wilkinson. “To everyone who joined us early, thank you for being part of our ‘test kitchen.’”
Hours may shift slightly as the restaurant gets fully settled, but here’s what to expect for now: Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Weekend brunch runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The dinner menu is available daily, from at 11 a.m.—until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The bar will remain open until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and until 10 p.m. on Sunday.
As spring arrives, guests can also enjoy Dodie’s outdoor patio dining—an inviting space perfect for soaking in the season while enjoying crawfish straight from the bayou, cold drinks, and the sounds and spirit of Cajun culture.

All-You-Can-Eat Crawfish Fest, April 19
Looking ahead, Dodie’s Greenville will host its inaugural All-You-Can-Eat Crawfish Fest on Sunday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring live music by the Big Daddy Band. Tickets are $45 per person, with a special $5 discount offered for this first Greenville event. Tickets are limited and available for purchase in the restaurant. The event builds on the success of Dodie’s Rockwall Crawfish Fest—now in its 15th year—which has sold out annually.
It’s All About Community
Beyond the kitchen, Dodie’s is committed to becoming an active part of the Greenville community. McRae is already engaged with the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, and that commitment will continue with plans for community-focused events such as crawfish festivals, gumbo cook-offs, and fundraisers benefiting local nonprofits.
“Giving back is part of our DNA,” McRae said. “We’re always grateful for the communities that support us, and we believe it’s important to reinvest that support right back into the places we call home.”
With its official opening, Dodie’s Cajun Kitchen looks forward to becoming a go-to destination where food, music, family, and fun come together—served with a true taste of Louisiana.
