WYLIE, Texas (April 6, 2026) —In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue & Educational Center (3430 Skyview Drive, Wylie, TX 75098) has welcomed 17 new animals — three tigers, four lions, and ten lemurs — who are settling into their new forever home at the sanctuary.
The animals arrived at In-Sync Exotics at the end of March following a carefully coordinated effort to ensure their safe transport and long-term care. Out of an abundance of care for the animals’ well-being, the organization waited to share the news publicly until each had been evaluated by veterinary staff and given time to acclimate to their new surroundings.
“Our first priority is always to ensure they feel safe, secure, and properly cared for,” said Vicky Keahey, Founder and President of In-Sync Exotics. “We’re happy to say they are settling in well, and our team is getting to know their individual personalities.”
The transport was the result of a decades-long relationship built between Keahey and the owners of a private facility in Amarillo. In its 25-year history, In-Sync has experienced unplanned animal surrenders, but a relationship nurtured over several years sheds light on one of the many unique aspects of running a successful sanctuary. It takes time, patience, and dedication.
“We’ve known this family for some time and share a mutual goal of ensuring the animals receive the best possible care,” Keahey said. “We are grateful to now provide the next chapter for these animals.”
Each animal is undergoing a comprehensive health assessment, and In-Sync’s veterinary team will develop individualized care plans to support their long-term health. As with all residents of In-Sync Exotics, these animals will remain at the sanctuary for the rest of their lives.
Caring for large exotic cats requires significant resources, including specialized diets, veterinary care, and habitat maintenance. In-Sync Exotics receives no federal, state, or local funding and relies entirely on the support of donors, sponsors, and the community.
“This is exactly why In-Sync exists,” Keahey added. “To step in when there is a need, and to provide a permanent home for animals who deserve nothing less.”
Members of the media are invited to visit In-Sync Exotics to meet the animals, capture video, and learn more about their transition to the sanctuary. For more information or to support the care of these animals, please visit https://www.insyncexotics.org/.
