Rockwall County Historical Foundation to Host May Brown Bag Revisited Lecture Featuring Joy Bounds

Local historian Joy Bounds will present an engaging program titled “History of The Rockwall Texas Success…and…A Child’s Recollection of the Newspaper and Town Square.” The lecture offers a heartfelt and personal glimpse into Rockwall’s past, highlighting memories of the town’s historic square and the influential local newspaper, The Rockwall Texas Success.

Drawing from her experiences growing up in Rockwall, Bounds will share stories that capture the spirit of a bygone era and illustrate how the newspaper served as a vital connection for the community. Her unique perspective provides valuable insight into the people, places, and traditions that helped shape the city’s identity.

The lecture will take place at 12 p.m. in the third-floor courtroom of the Historic Courthouse, located in Downtown Rockwall. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch and enjoy this enriching midday program. Admission is free, and guests of all ages are welcome.
