ROCKWALL, TX (April 28, 2026) — An unforgettable evening of elegance, mystery, and purpose unfolded April 11 as the Rockwall Women’s League hosted its annual black-tie gala, Paris After Dark: A Midnight Masquerade, at the iconic Hilton Anatole. As proud Media Sponsor, Blue Ribbon News was honored to help share the story of a night where glamour met giving—and the Rockwall community showed up in full support.
From masked intrigue to dazzling décor, the evening brought together supporters united by a shared mission: strengthening the community through philanthropy and volunteerism. Thanks to the generosity of attendees and their belief in the Rockwall Women’s League’s work, the organization will continue to support local nonprofits, uplift families, and invest in the future of Rockwall County through grants and scholarships.

Rockwall Women’s League President Judy Kunhardt expressed heartfelt gratitude: “We are deeply grateful to the wonderful people of Rockwall whose generosity made this year’s ball so special. Your continued support enables us to give back to our community in meaningful and lasting ways. We extend our sincere appreciation to our Ball Chair, Andrea Woodworth, whose vision and dedication brought the evening to life.”
Ball Chair Andrea Woodworth echoed that sentiment, celebrating both impact and joy: “Our 2026 gala was a true reflection of what happens when passionate women and the Rockwall community come together with purpose—and to have fun! We are so grateful for the impact we created together and cannot wait to build on this momentum for an even more unforgettable evening next year.”
President-Elect Shannon Hernandez added: “The Rockwall Women’s League Paris After Dark Ball brought our community together for a truly unforgettable evening filled with elegance and connection. We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended and for the incredible support that made the night so special.”
A highlight of the evening included remarks from 2025 scholarship recipient Keaton Steen, winner of the prestigious Patsy K. Hendrickson Distinguished Scholar $20,000 Scholarship. Steen shared his aspirations to attend law school, become a trial attorney, and potentially pursue public office. This summer, he will intern in Washington, D.C.—a powerful example of the League’s lasting impact.
Since its founding in 1973—when Patsy Hendrickson gathered six friends in her home with a simple idea to “do good in the community and have fun doing it”—the Rockwall Women’s League has contributed more than $5 million back into the community. In the past year alone, the organization funded 27 community grants and awarded 13 scholarships, continuing its legacy of empowering nonprofits and local students alike.
As the final masks came off and the music faded, one thing was clear: the spirit of giving remains at the heart of this beloved tradition.

Save the date: The Rockwall Women’s League will host its Big Hat Luncheon on Friday, October 30, and next year’s annual gala on Saturday, April 3—promising another evening where purpose and celebration go hand in hand.
