ROCKWALL, TX (May 5, 2026) — Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas (BGCNETX) is expanding summer opportunities for teens with the launch of its Legal Education Mini Camp, made possible through support from the Texas Bar Foundation.
The Legal Education Mini Camp is one of eight unique summer camp experiences offered by BGCNETX this year, designed to give young people hands-on, engaging opportunities to learn, grow, and explore their interests.
Part of the organization’s Keystone Club leadership program, this week-long experience is designed for teens ages 13–18 and focuses on legal rights, civic responsibility, and real-world decision-making.
The camp will take place July 13–16 from 12:00–6:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Rockwall.
Throughout the week, teens will:
● Connect with attorneys, law enforcement, and community leaders
● Learn practical topics like “Know Your Rights,” digital responsibility, and civic engagement
● Explore local government and public safety systems
● Build leadership skills through interactive, real-life scenarios
This initiative is part of BGCNETX’s Future Ready strategy, helping young people build the skills and confidence they need for life beyond high school.
“This program gives teens something they don’t always get—real conversations, real knowledge, and real confidence,” said Jenny Krueger, Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas. “We’re helping them understand their rights, their responsibilities, and their potential.”
The Legal Education Mini Camp builds on the success of previous teen programming and responds to a growing need for accessible, engaging civic education.
By combining leadership development with legal literacy, BGCNETX is helping shape informed, empowered young people across Northeast Texas.
Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $30 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation’s largest charitably-funded bar foundation.
