These dedicated individuals now join Lone Star CASA’s mission of advocating for children and families involved in the foster care system. CASA Volunteers serve as consistent voices for children, helping ensure their needs are recognized and their best interests remain at the center of every decision made throughout the legal process.

Before being assigned to a case, CASA Volunteers complete 30 hours of specialized training focused on child advocacy, the foster care system, and courtroom procedures. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old, pass background checks, and commit to supporting a child through their case. Once appointed, volunteers work closely with children, families, caregivers, and professionals to help promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes for each child they serve.

The impact of Lone Star CASA continues to grow throughout the community. In 2025, CASA Volunteers advocated for 272 children compared to 214 children in 2024, representing a 27% increase in children served within one year. As the need continues to rise, Lone Star CASA encourages community members to become involved and help make a difference in the lives of local children.
