WYLIE, Texas (June 09, 2026) —In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center has welcomed five exotic cats from Safe Haven Wildlife Sanctuary in Imlay, Nevada. While many of the animals that call In-Sync Exotics home came from places where they were provided improper care, it is a special privilege to help another sanctuary in need.
Save Haven Wildlife Sanctuary ended its operations after its aging founders were unable to find new ownership. They were accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries since 2013 and were home to exotic cats, bears, and canids.
The well-being and future care of the animals remained both organizations’ highest priority throughout the process. In coordination with experienced animal care teams, two caracals, two cougars and one tiger have been safely relocated to In-Sync Exotics, where they will continue to receive lifelong care, enrichment, veterinary support and appropriate habitats and diets tailored to their individual needs. The In-Sync Exotics team had a second transport team that assisted in relocating several other animals from Safe Haven to the Exotic Feline Rescue Center in Center Point, Indiana.
The transports were completed with detailed planning and oversight to minimize stress on the animals. Upon arrival at their new home, they will continue to receive veterinary evaluations and have the time to acclimate to their new surroundings.
“We are honored to provide these animals with a permanent home and continue the care they have received since their initial rescue,” said Vicky Keahey, President and Founder of In-Sync Exotics. “While the closure of any sanctuary is heartbreaking, we are grateful to help ensure these animals remain safe, healthy, and well cared for.”
In-Sync Exotics has extensive experience caring for exotic cats and acknowledged the years of dedication and compassion shown by the staff and supporters of Safe Haven.
“Their team worked tirelessly to place the animals responsibly, and we are committed to honoring that trust by providing exceptional lifelong care,” Keahey stated.
Supporters wishing to help provide care for the animals can make donations, sponsor an animal or learn more about In-Sync Exotics at the sanctuary’s website, insyncexotics.org.
Members of the media are invited to visit In-Sync Exotics to meet the animals, capture video, and learn more about their transition to the sanctuary.
