By Popular Demand: Rockwall County Historical Foundation adds July Texas Time Bus Tour

The immersive tour is part of the Foundation’s ongoing celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, inviting residents and visitors alike to experience the stories, landmarks and people that shaped Rockwall County from 1836 to today.

Led by local historian Mark Russo, the tour offers a unique look at the county’s rich heritage, taking passengers by charter bus to historic sites throughout Rockwall County while sharing the fascinating stories behind the communities, pioneers and events that helped define the area.

This special summer edition also includes a legendary BootsBurgers lunch and exclusive access to several historic gems along the route that are not typically part of a traditional museum visit.

“Our goal is to immerse participants in the history that we need to protect,” Foundation organizers said. “From our pioneer roots to the vibrant community we enjoy today, every stop helps tell the story of Rockwall County.”

The guided tour departs at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, from the Rockwall County Historical Museum, 901 E. Washington Street, and returns around 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $30 per person and are available for ages 6 and older. Seating is limited, and advance registration is encouraged.

Founded in 1978, the Rockwall County Historical Foundation is dedicated to collecting, preserving and sharing the rich history of Rockwall County through museum exhibits, educational programs and community events. The Texas Time Bus Tour has quickly become one of its most popular offerings during the nation’s America 250 celebration.
