ROCKWALL, TX (Sept. 8, 2026) Rockwall Area Retired Teachers Association (RARTA) members will have their first meeting for the 2026-2027 school year on Wednesday morning, September 9, 10:30AM, in the large meeting room of the Rockwall County Library.
Thomas Poore, District 10 Legislative Chair, will speak about the 2027 Legislative Priorities of RARTA. RARTA is an ardent defender of the traditional Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) defined benefit plan and opposes any efforts to close, convert, or weaken the TRS defined benefit plan.
Public school and higher education retirees are invited to attend RARTA meetings. Light refreshments will be served.
