ROCKWALL, Texas (Sept 10, 2026) – For Rockwall-area residents looking for a way to give back this September, a new community event will make finding a place to serve as simple as showing up.
A Fall Community Service Fair, sponsored by JustServe, will bring around 20 local nonprofit organizations together at San Jacinto Plaza in downtown Rockwall on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to noon. The free event is open to all ages and is designed to connect residents directly with organizations serving needs throughout the community.
From food banks and animal rescue organizations to literacy programs, senior support and environmental projects, participating nonprofits will offer a wide variety of ways to get involved. Attendees can visit with organizations, learn about their work and, in many cases, sign up for a volunteer project on the spot.
The event comes during a month when service is particularly meaningful. Each September, communities across the country observe the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, honoring those lost and affected by the 9/11 attacks through volunteer service. The Fall Community Service Fair offers residents an opportunity to carry that spirit of service beyond a single day, by finding local organizations and causes they can continue supporting throughout the year.
For students, the fair can also provide a convenient and engaging way to explore opportunities for service hours. Rather than searching individually for organizations that accept youth volunteers, students and their families can meet representatives from numerous nonprofits in one place and learn which opportunities fit their ages, interests and schedules.
Families are welcome, and participating organizations will offer opportunities suitable for a range of ages and group sizes.

The Fall Community Service Fair will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to noon at San Jacinto Plaza in Rockwall. Admission is free and no advance registration is required.
