ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX (Oct. 26, 2026) – Weather permitting, the eastbound I-30 off-ramp to Horizon Road in Rockwall (Exit 67A) will close and detour through early 2027 as part of the ongoing expansion project. This will allow crews to construct and relocate the exit and entrance ramps serving the Horizon Road area along I-30.
Drivers should follow detour signs and use Exit 67B for access to Horizon Road from eastbound I-30. As progress continues, check drivetexas.org for daily lane closures. Any major scheduled closures will be announced in advance, and there is an option to sign up for text alerts.
The $348 million I-30 corridor expansion project will widen the interstate and add continuous frontage roads from SH 205 to the Hunt County Line, and will add new frontage road bridges across Lake Ray Hubbard. The overall project is expected to be complete by early 2028. This work is part of TxDOT’s Texas Clear Lanes effort to relieve congestion in major metropolitan areas.
Submitted press release, TxDOT Traffic Advisory.
