Participants journey into volunteerism
(Frisco) August 24, 2012 – The Leadership Frisco Advisory Council is proud to announce the participants for the 2012-13 year, the 16th class for the program.
Leadership Frisco, a nine-month community leadership program sponsored by the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, develops a pool of qualified, well-informed individuals set to assume leadership roles in the community. It seeks out local, highly motivated individuals interested in expanding their leadership skills, deepening their sense of civic responsibility and heightening their involvement in volunteer opportunities, neighborhood associations and the community as a whole.
The program, which starts in September with a team building day, includes one full day each month dedicated to exploring the inner workings of Frisco’s government, educational system, economic development, service organizations, regional issues, leisure and culture, and public safety. Participants will also learn about and get to practice skills critical to working with volunteers and groups in the community and their businesses. Members of the program will also select and complete a class project during their year that benefits Frisco.
