(Garland ISD) September 20, 2012 – Just as society is ever-changing, so are public school classrooms. Garland ISD recognizes that students today learn differently than those in the past, and that each student has an individual learning style.
For this reason, GISD teachers are always looking for engaging ways to educate their classes. Often incorporating technology or other hands-on materials, these supplements incur extra costs for either the district or teachers themselves.
The Garland-based production plant of EcoLab has long been helping to offset those costs. Since 1987, the global leader in cleaning, sanitizing, food safety, and infection-prevention products and services has donated more than $712,000 in “Visions for Learning” grants.
Peter Dyer, manager at Garland’s Ecolab plant, presented 44 GISD educators with checks totaling $46,800 on Sept. 12.
“Thanks for all of you,” he said. “Several of our employees have children in GISD schools, so your efforts benefit them as well.”
EcoLab’s donations are all raised by company employees.
