High school students encouraged to apply
(ROCKWALL-March 31, 2013) Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall will offer a new student volunteer program this summer. The program, which provides opportunities to learn about a variety of hospital-related service lines, is open to excellent and outgoing students who are at least 16 years of age.
Applications are available at the front desk in the hospital lobby and must be submitted in completion by April 26, 2013. Interviews will begin in May and students selected for the program will be notified following completion of the interview process. The student volunteer program runs from June 24 – July 31, with a mandatory orientation class on June 24. At the completion of the program, student volunteers will receive a certificate for documentation of service hours provided.
Student volunteers will be assigned to work in patient care departments as well as in support services. Texas Health Rockwall will make every effort to honor a requested area but cannot guarantee placement in a specific location. Jacqueline Camp, Director of Patient Experience, encourages any student with an interest in learning more about the healthcare field or considering a career in healthcare to apply saying, “Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall, recognized as a Top 100 Hospital “Best Place to Work” for the past two years has many dedicated healthcare professionals eager to share their passion for patient care with those whom volunteer. Come learn with us. You might even find your passion.”
