(May 9, 2013) City Bank Texas recently presented a total of $50,000 to local nonprofits, as part of the bank’s Community Rewards program.
Awards were presented to Rockwall recipients on May 7 at Culpepper Steakhouse. Forney recipients were honored at a dinner at Alfredo’s on May 8.
Rockwall and Forney residents were able to determine their reward recipients—one $10,000, one $5,000 and three $2,500—by voting for their favorite charity online at citybankonline.com. Votes were accepted once per day from March 29 through May 3. As a result of those votes, City Bank awarded checks to five winners in each community, to assist them in carrying out their missions of hope and service to people in need throughout our cities and the surrounding areas.
During the past five years, in other markets, City Bank has awarded $260,000 in Community Rewards to 40 nonprofit entities.
“Community Rewards is a way for us to give back and help many of our neighbors through the caring and dedicated work of our nonprofit agencies,” said Cory T. Newsom, City Bank President and CEO. “We also like that it builds awareness for a multitude of nonprofits and highlights their services and needs. We are blessed to live in communities with so many outstanding and caring agencies, and we are extremely pleased to be able to lend a hand in helping improve the quality of life.”
