Dr. David Schwartz files for Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees, Place 7

ROCKWALL (February 2, 2014) On January 31st of 2014, Dr. David Schwartz submitted an application with the Rockwall Independent School District, for election candidacy for the School Board of Trustees, Place # 7.

Dr. Schwartz brings more than 25 years of experience as a Clinical Pharmacist and Podiatric Physician, with direct patient care and hospital director-level experience.  Currently pursuing a MBA in Finance and registered to practice before the IRS as an Enrolled Agent, Dr. Schwartz will provide fiscal conservatism, combined with organizational operations knowledge.

Dr. Schwartz strongly believes in:

  • Conservative fiscal policies
  • Strong student and family empowerment
  • School security and safe environment for students and staff
  • Community involvement and direction of local ISD initiatives

Prior military experience includes Honorably Discharged from the United States Army Reserve, Medical Service Corp, United States Public Health Commissioned Corps (LCDR), and currently commissioned (Major) and serving in the Texas State Guard, Medical Brigade HQ unit, Personnel section.

Prior local community experience includes appointment by the Rockwall Commissioners’ Court to serve as Volunteer Coordinator for the Rockwall Sheriff’s Office Cities Readiness Initiative; volunteer member of Rockwall Police Department Citizens on Patrol/CPAAA, including assistance in the formation of a tax exempt 501(c)3 organization; volunteer member of the Rockwall CERT team; and Senior member (Maj.) of the U.S. Civil Air Patrol, Rockwall Lakeshore Composite Squadron, Drug Demand Reduction Texas Wing Administrator.

Dr. Schwartz has two children in the Rockwall ISD schools, Hannah and Sarah; and a third, Simon, starting Rockwall kindergarten in the fall.  Dr. Schwartz has the support of his wife, Cheryl; and they have been residents of the Rockwall community for over ten years.

The 2014 Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees election will be held on Saturday, May 10.

Candidate application packets may be obtained during regular business hours (Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) in the superintendent’s office at the Rockwall Independent School District Administration / Education Center, 1050 Williams Street, Rockwall.
