ROYSE CITY (February 17, 2014) The Royse City Chamber of Commerce has announced they will be naming their annual college scholarship in honor of Ouida Baley, the First Lady of Royse City, who passed away last night.
“I can’t even begin to describe the impact she has had on this community and how loved she was by every single person that met her. As a graduate of Royse City High School, she cared more about the children of this area than anyone we know,” wrote Chamber president Julia Bryant. “The Ouida Howell Baley Memorial Scholarship has been named in honor of a woman who continually gave of her time and resources for the children of this community. Her passion for making everyone feel valued was evident in everything she did and it is our goal to make sure her legacy of love lives on.”
