ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX (April 17, 2014) Do you love children and want to help them? The Boys & Girls Club of Rockwall County is the place for you. BGC has many opportunities throughout the year for the community to get involved and help local children and their families.
First up is Club BLUE which is currently under way. Club BLUE is a unique opportunity for the community to get connected to helping change a child’s life by volunteering or donations which supports BGC’s after-school and summer programs. Club BLUE is hosting a Golf Classic which is followed by a BLUE Bash Luau. Club BLUE Golf Classic is Friday, May 30th with a shotgun start at 1 PM. BLUE Bash Luau kicks off at 6 PM. The Golf Classic & BLUE Bash will be hosted at the Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club. For more information, email clubblue@bgcrockwall.com.
Next up is the Pickleball Mixed-Double Classic. Pickleball is a combination of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Mixed-Double Classic will be hosted on Saturday, May 24th with round robin at 8 AM in the Boys & Girls Club gym.
You can test your culinary skills with your colleagues, family, & friends by participating in an Iron Chef Challenge. Iron Chef is hosted at South Fork Ranch on Saturday, October 18th, starting at 6:30 PM. There are a several challenges throughout the night with prizes to be awarded at the end of the night. Teams also put on skits for the judges and this is one event that bribery is encouraged. Space is limited so reserve your spot early.
