(Richardson) Cirque Mechanics, the American theater company, is riding in to the Eisemann Center with Boom Town, their all-ages acrobatic tale of adventure seekers and gold rush era explorers performing on inventive mechanical wonders. Eisemann Center Presents is excited to be bringing this modern mechanical circus company to their stage as part of their 2011-12 season.
This thrilling production will be at the Eisemann Center in Richardson for one performance, Saturday, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at eisemanncenter.com by phone at 972-744-4650 or in person at the Eisemann Center Ticket Office at 2351 Performance Drive inside the Leftwich Grand Foyer.
Boom Town is a two act live theater show set in an 1860’s frontier town, where you will find performers climbing up swaying telegraph poles, dancing on a swinging chandelier, flying high and fast on a revolving crane and flipping and jumping on moving ore carts. The New York Times hailed Cirque Mechanics as “exceptional, evocative, eye-catching and…engrossingly entertaining.” Time Out NY reviewed that Boom Town busts “into town like a herd of wild broncos” and “wows from start to finish.” The Tacoma News Tribune found Boom Town “heart-stopping”, “a gem of a production” and “brimming with world-class performers.” Boom Town is high caliber family entertainment suitable for all ages.
Boom Town’s astounding feats, high-energy dancing and clever story were created and directed by Chris Lashua, co-directed by Aloysia Gavre and written by Steven Ragatz. Boom Town performers are stunning in period costumes designed by Belinda Long. Michael Picton’s original musical score is “much praised” and described as “- a heck of a toe-tapper” by the Montreal Gazette and Sean Rylie’s inventive set-design is a stand out. Cirque Mechanic’s Boom Town is a stellar ensemble of award winning, world-renowned, highly regarded artists, acrobats, dancers, actors, jugglers and comics.
