ROCKWALL, TX (August 24, 2014) Lakes Regional Community Center along with the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the opening of “Connections,” a state of the art facility serving adults and children with Autism and other Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Local officials including Mayor David Sweet, County Commissioner Cliff Sevier, John Delaney, Executive Director, along with families, local educators and community providers were in attendance. The cutting of the ribbon was performed by long-time Rockwall resident and advocate, the late Nancy Ervin’s husband, James Ervin and son, Jim Ervin.
The Adult Day Program provides opportunities for participants to increase independence through innovative training and community involvement. The Children Day Treatment program uses Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to address deficits in social skills and problem behavior reduction. “Connections” is committed to promoting advocacy and offering personalized attention with an emphasis on individual abilities and needs.
