ROCKWALL, TX (August 27, 2014) Auditions to select four to eight soloists for the December performance of a Messiah Sing-a-Long will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 14th, in the choir room at First United Methodist Church of Rockwall.
The “Messiah” performance will consist of Part I and the Hallelujah Chorus from Part II of Handel’s Messiah.

On Saturday, December 6th,Lakeside Civic Chorus will host the inaugural Rockwall Messiah Sing-a-Long at the First United Methodist Church, where the audience will serve as the chorus in the performance of Handel’s masterpiece, “Messiah.” The audience, seated according to voice range, will sing the choral part of the piece. The performance will be led by an orchestra comprised of volunteer musicians, four to eight soloists, and guest conductors from the area. Dr. William Witwer, director of Lakeside Civic Chorus, will serve as lead conductor of the performance, and Lakeside Civic Chorus members will serve as core musicians within the chorus.

Established in 1984, Lakeside Civic Chorus is a non-profit organization comprised of members from the Lake Ray Hubbard area who love to sing. Membership is open to all, regardless of musical training or experience. In addition to underwriting expenses, the chorus funds music scholarships for students from local high schools.
