ROCKWALL, TX (September 25, 2014) Jenae Glanton, Cain Middle School Theater Director and Fine Arts Department Chair, was awarded the Texas Educational Theater Association’s K-8 Educator of the Year on Tuesday, September 23.
This award is given to Texas Educators who have shown excellence in Theater education and who have shown great support of Theater education in the State.
Glanton is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University and holds a M.A. and a B.A. in Theater. She has been teaching Middle School Theater for eleven years. This is her second year in Rockwall ISD. She has directed over thirty productions at the middle school level, earning nine Middle School UIL One-Act Play District Placements. She is an Actor’s Equity Association Membership Candidate and has been seen on stage in several professional, theatrical productions in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Jenae is an Honorary Lifetime PTA Member and serves the Texas Educational Theater Association as the K-12 Committee’s Vice President-Elect and The Texas Thespian State Chapter as Junior Thespian Festival Director.
The award will be given to Mrs. Glanton at the TETA Theatrefest Convention in Houston, January 2015.
