ROCKWALL, TX. (October 14, 2014) Saturday, October 4, the doors of Rockwall Fire Station #2 opened for their 11th Annual Open House. This Rockwall Fire Department tradition was a great success.
In-n-Out burgers brought out their huge mobile kitchen and served up over 800 free burger lunches to visitors. The Rockwall Fire Department also served over 500 cupcakes for dessert!
Firefighters demonstrated their auto extrication skills and assisted citizens with hands-on fire extinguisher training.

Volunteer firefighters were available to give and receive warm welcomes as well as information about being a volunteer.
Additional free activities included face-painting, air-brushing tattoos, balloon artist, interactive inflatables, apparatus tours, station tours, visits and photos with Sparky, and much more.
The Rockwall Fire Department wishes to express their appreciation to the Rockwall High School Girls Basketball Team and FFA, who helped make the Open House a successful community event by volunteering their time to assist with many of the day’s activities.
The Rockwall Fire Department would like to thank all of the Rockwall residents who attended the Open House on Saturday! The turnout was phenomenal and the community interest was amazing. The many visitors to our Annual Open House were appreciated, and they look forward to working to serve the community throughout the remainder of 2014.
The Rockwall Fire Department hopes they have taken steps to becoming closer to those we serve, and maybe inspired some citizens to join in their efforts.
