ROCKWALL, TX (Dec. 9, 2014) The Rockwall High School Jacket Backers have selected Xavier Castille as the Meador Auto Yellowjacket Athlete of the Month, and Sara Williamson as Meador Auto Lady Jacket Athlete of the Month.
Castille, a 12th grade member of the Varsity Football Team, was nominated by Coach Rodney Webb and chosen by the Jacket Backers board.
Castille had arguably the best month in the history of Rockwall football. He was named the Dallas News HS Hero of the Week for his performance in the Jesuit playoff win. His stats for the month were:
26 CARRIES FOR 313 YARDS AND 4 TD’S
39 RECEPTIONS FOR 654 YARDS AND 11 TD’S
967 TOTAL YARDS AND 15 TD’S
AND 2 INT’S.
“Xavier was the heart and soul of our team this season, and his efforts during the month of November 2014 will be remembered for a LONG time in the lore of Rockwall football,” said Coach Web. ”
Sara Williamson, a 12th grade member of the Varsity Basketball Team, was nominated by Coach Kasie Brewer and chosen by the Jacket Backers board.
During November, Williamson was named All Tournament in the Mo Williams Allen Basketball Tournament, leading the Lady Jackets to a 6th place finish out of 32 teams. She averaged 18.6 points at the tournament, shooting 89% from the Free Throw line. She also signed her NLI with ACU during November.
Williamson is averaging 19 points per game, 3 Asst, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals for the entire month. She helped in leading her team to a 14 point upset victory over McKinney North earlier in the month.
“Sara is a great leader who displays great character on and off the court. The hard work and heart she plays with motivates and inspires our team to be our best. She is a great kid and I am excited to continue to see her grow,” said Coach Brewer.
