ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX (Dec. 19, 2014) Congressman-elect John Ratcliffe has selected Jason Ross to be his District Director. Ross, a Rockwall County native, will manage Ratcliffe’s district operation across the 18 counties of the 4th Congressional District. Ross brings impressive credentials to the position along with a wealth of community and civic involvement in the region.
“I’m honored that Congressman-elect Ratcliffe has asked me to serve as his District Director,” Ross said. “It is a humbling privilege to serve for a man of integrity entrusted by our constituents to bring a fresh voice to Washington and help change the direction of our country. The 700,000 people of this district have just one voice to represent them in Congress, and I feel deeply blessed to have to the opportunity to help the Congressman be the most effective representative possible, and to do so in the very communities where I grew up and where my wife and I raise our children.”
For Ross, a commitment to exemplary constituent service will be the overarching priority. “It’s important to remember that the Congressman works for the people of the district,” Ross said. “Constituents should always have their needs met, voices heard, and courteous and professional staff eager to assist them in any way possible. I’m excited to lead the Congressman’s district operation and build a team of equally passionate and dedicated people.”
Ratcliffe expressed both confidence in Ross’ abilities and gratitude for his willingness to fill such a critical role on his staff. “I couldn’t be more pleased to be bringing someone of Jason’s considerable talents and reputation for integrity onboard as my District Director,” Ratcliffe said. “Jason’s experiences and qualifications make him an outstanding fit for this position. He’s been very active in this community, in local government, and his church. He’s a native of the 4th Congressional District and has also been a small business owner in the area. Jason shares my desire to deliver first rate constituent service, and I’m confident he will be terrific in the role.”
Prior to joining Ratcliffe’s team, Ross was the General Counsel and Executive Vice President of GMR Protection Resources in Heath, Texas. He graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University and later from Baylor University School of Law. He currently is a Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the City of Heath, and an active member of the Rockwall Rotary Club. He also serves on the Rockwall County Republican Party Executive Committee and has volunteered for nearly a decade as an election judge in Rockwall County. His prior community service includes the YMCA Board of Managers in Rockwall County, Pullen Elementary Campus Improvement Committee, and Treasurer and Finance Committee of First Baptist Church Rockwall. Ross is also an accomplished athlete, having completed multiple Ironman Triathlons.
Congressman-elect Ratcliffe will be sworn in as a member of the 114th United States Congress on January 6th, 2015. He plans to open district offices in early January in Rockwall, Sherman and Texarkana.
