Heath Mayor Pro Tem Justin Holland to seek third term

ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX (Jan. 4, 2015) Two-term Heath City Council Member Justin Holland recently announced his intention to run for a third term in the May 2015 election. First elected in 2011, Holland won election with nearly 70% of votes cast in his favor. Both in 2013 and 2014, he was voted by his peers on the council to serve in the Mayor Pro Tem capacity; a position which serves as a placeholder to conduct the business of city meetings and hearings in the absence of the the Mayor.

During his time on the council, Holland has been a leader and collaborator for maintaining prudent budget expenditures as Heath experiences growth, fair and equitable voting decisions for all citizens and their quality of life, as well as an active pursuit of future residential and retail development. He also serves as Vice President of the Heath Economic Development & Municipal Benefit Corporation’s Board of Directors.

A sixth-generation Rockwall County resident, Holland’s ancestors arrived in 1896. Holland was raised in Heath and Rockwall with an appreciation and love for public service that was passed on by some of his heroes and mentors. His great-grandfather J.W. Cullins was Heath’s first Chief of Police in the 1970s. Grandfather Douglas R. Cullins served Rockwall County for nearly 20 years as Constable for precincts 2 and 3 until his passing in 2001.

A Rockwall small business owner with experience in real estate and banking, Holland holds a B.A. in Communication & Public Affairs from Texas Tech University and a M.S. in Management from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Justin is an active member of Rockwall Rotary Club, Dallas Athletic Club Men’s Golf Association board of directors, a 2014 graduate of Leadership Rockwall, an endowed member of East Trinity Masonic Lodge #157 and committee member of Lake Ray Hubbard Ducks Unlimited chapter.

Justin and wife Neely have been married for 7 years and have two daughters – Wiley Beth (3) and Emma Cullins (1). The Hollands are members of Lake Pointe Church.
