ROCKWALL,TX. (June 29, 2015) At the recent Soroptimist International Governor’s Round Table held in Los Angeles, SI Rockwall was one of two clubs awarded recognition for a unique fundraising event that was family oriented and also created public awareness.
The Rockwall club entered the 2014 Rockwall Country Fair in the fundraising category of Soroptimist Celebrating Success. It was chosen from more than 1,300 clubs in 20 countries and territories that form Soroptimist International of the Americas.
The organization works to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Cindy Lindley, Governor –elect of the South Central Region and a Rockwall Soroptimist member, accepted the award and presented it to newly installed Rockwall Soroptimist President, Norma Morris.
The Rockwall Club recently held the 2nd annual Country Fair on May 30, and hopes to continue this event in the future.
