(ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX – September 14, 2015) On September 13, 2015 at 8:23 PM, the Rockwall Police Department received a call from a subject who stated that he was en route to Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwall with his 17 year old son that had just been shot on Faircrest Drive in Rockwall while walking home. Officers were dispatched to Presbyterian Hospital as well as the area where the shooting took place. Officers at the hospital were advised by the ER doctor that it appeared that the victim had been shot in the lower abdomen. The victim was later flown by Care Flight to Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and is in stable condition.
The 17 year old victim attends Rockwall Heath High School, but because he is a minor, his identity is being withheld at this time. Based on interviews with the victim and other individuals, investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there are no threats to the general public. There have been no arrests made in this case and the investigation is ongoing.
