(ROCKWALL, TX – October 29, 2015) The Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony recently to celebrate the opening of The CORE, Rockwall’s first and only STEM-focused “Technasium” – a gymnasium for your brain, and a cool place to build tech stuff.
The “Technasium” is an awesome place for students to get the hands-on, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) focused education required for the careers of tomorrow.
“I can sum up the experience of the CORE™ in one word…EXCITEMENT! You should see the faces of the students as they enter the lab,” said Kevin Weable, Partner and Director of Marketing.
The project-based curriculum consists of over 300 projects for students to engage in including robotics, mechanics, structures, applied technology, circuitry, and computer science. The education and summer programs spark learning by allowing the youth of today experiment with STEM ideas in real-world situations, explore ideas through hands-on activities, and choose experiments, which connect, to their interests and/or culture.
With hours from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday-Friday and 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturdays, the CORE can accommodate a perfect block time for you and your student.
