Family 2 Family Community Thanksgiving fills plates, warms hearts

(ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX – Nov. 22, 2015) The Boys & Girls Club’s Family 2 Family Community Thanksgiving was deemed a huge success as volunteers served up delicious food, friendship and fellowship to more than 300 people Saturday.

Guests had the opportunity to participate in a mid-year school supply distribution, apply for Toys for Tots, winter blanket distribution and dental hygiene education.

“Thank you to all of the sponsors and volunteers that help put this event together! So many children received bikes, coats, school supplies and a warm meal. We were able to serve over 300 people today. AND we still had more food so we bagged it all up and hit the streets! The smiles, tears of joy and “thank you’s” warmed my heart!” wrote Debi Gee Williamson on her Facebook page.

As part of the event, Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County was able to serve 165 seniors a delicious Thanksgiving meal.
