(ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX – Sept. 22, 2016) For the past several years, Mathnasium Learning Center of Rockwall-Heath has been helping kids in Pre-K through 12th grade better understand math, overcome homework frustration, and “make math make sense.” Owners Bob and Becky Barnes are excited to announce that Mathnasium will once again host a FREE, fun and educational program for area children this fall.
Multiplication Madness is open to students in 3rd through 6th grade over the course of four Friday evenings in October.
“This is a great opportunity for Rockwall area students to hone their multiplication skills in an engaging and entertaining environment. We take four Fridays in the fall of each year to host one hour sessions where children can practice their multiplication facts while playing games,” explained Bob.
This year’s Multiplication Madness events will take place Oct. 7, 14, 21, and 28 at the learning center, located at 1300 E. Ralph Hall Parkway. Each session will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. As the children rotate from station to station, they will play “Card Sharks,” “Multiplication Wrap Ups,” “Jeopardy” and “Flash Master.” The evening will end with a large group Multiplication BINGO game. All children will be awarded a door prize as a reward for a good math workout.
“Becky and I believe that children don’t really hate math; they hate being intimidated by something in which they are not confident. This is a chance for children to practice their multiplication in a non-threatening environment,” Bob said. “It’s our core belief that most any child can succeed at math. We look forward to introducing multiplication to children in a fun and entertaining way and we are excited about helping every child reach their potential in math by teaching in a way that makes sense to them.”
