(ROCKWALL, TX – Feb. 28, 2017) IndivisibleDFW will host a Rally for Texas at the Harbor Amphitheatre in Rockwall as part of a state-wide candidate kickoff from 2- 5 p.m. this Sunday, March 5.
“I decided to help with organizing the rally as a show of support for local candidates across North Texas,” said Jessica Camacho, event host and candidate for Mansfield School Board. “Our local elected officials have the greatest impact on our day to day lives. It’s important to elect people to those positions who reflect your values.”
The rally in Rockwall will feature candidates across all N. Texas counties and cities running for local office. Dallas city councilman Philip Kingston will open the three-hour event featuring 16 candidates. Rep. Victoria Neave will be the keynote speaker and will discuss the importance of public service. W.T. White High School student Karla Quinones, president of the W.T. White chapter of IndivisibleDFW, will introduce Neave. Similar rallies will be hosted in Austin and Houston as part of a coordinated effort by the Indivisible movement in Texas to help support local candidates for office.
“When our leaders fail us, we find new ones. That’s what this event is all about,” said Jay Malone IndivisibleDFW steering committee member.
IndivisibleDFW is dedicated to building an inclusive coalition in N. Texas committed to good governance in America through activism, advocacy and the support of candidates.
