(ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX – April 12, 2017) Early this week, HCA had six student-athletes qualify and compete in the TAPPS 3A State Tournament in Waco, TX. Despite the rainy weather and delay in play, HCA had a solid showing including senior, Kyndall Misak, cruising to a second straight girls’ singles state championship.
Misak concluded the two-day event by defeating Taylor McManus of San Antonio Keystone School (6-0, 6-0), and in fact, never dropped a set during her championship run.
During her time at HCA, Misak has won three district championships, two state championships and been named state runner-up once. She has been dominate for the Eagles and will continue her tennis career at Florida Atlantic University next season.
In addition to Misak, HCA was represented by juniors Jonathan Naylor, Drew Hargrove, and Nelson Williamson as well as seniors Alan Apolinar and Caleb Morris. All suffered early losses, except the doubles team of Williamson and Apolinar who lost a heartbreaking marathon quarterfinal match (5-7, 6-7) to Grant Hanson and Luke Schmitt of San Antonio Christian School at Castle Hill.
