(ROCKWALL, TX — March 2, 2018) The City of Fate has teamed up with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall to install a National Fitness Campaign (NFC) Fitness Court at Robert Smith Family Park. Connected to the three quarters of a mile looped trail at the park, this state-of-the-art American-made Fitness Court allows anyone to get a free world-class full body workout in just seven minutes.
The Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall Fitness Court accommodates a variety of skill levels and abilities at each station, from beginner to expert. The system consists of seven movement stations (core, squats, push, pull, lunge, bend and agility) allowing users to leverage their body weight at different angles and levels of resistance.
President of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall Cindy Perrin said the Fitness Court embodies Texas Health’s mission in providing quality care for friends and neighbors of Rockwall County and focusing on improving health before problems begin.
“Because we fully recognize the significant health benefits of an active lifestyle, we are honored to partner with the City of Fate to encourage and support a healthy lifestyle and help to provide services that will improve the lives of residents of all ages,” Perrin said. “Bottom line: we’re with you in sickness and in health!”
The gym facility also includes a mobile app which makes it easy to personalize every workout. The app lets you select music from your own music playlist and featuring videos of personal trainers detailing the movements to the 7, 14, and 21-minute workouts.
“Fate’s goal is to bring quality amenities to residents for a happy and healthy lifestyle” said City of Fate Mayor Lorne Megyesi. “The Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall Fitness Court is designed to bring the community together in a healthy way.”
An Opening Day Launch Party is scheduled for Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with fun training challenges, prizes and giveaways.
Founded in 1979 by fitness enthusiast Mitch Menaged, National Fitness Campaign has been helping people live more active and healthy lives across the country for over 30 years. In its history, the campaign has partnered with over 4,000 cities and colleges to convert public spaces into NFC Fitness Courts.
NFC is a social enterprise, providing a share of their profits to communities in need to help them build Fitness Courts and expand access to healthy infrastructure.
“We know that there is value in providing access to free public fitness opportunities. NFC is lucky to partner with a city like Fate, which sees this value and continues to invest in their residents’ lifelong health,” Menaged said.
