(FATE, TX – Dec. 13, 2018) Our future is bright! As we near the end of 2018, I wanted to reflect on this statement. Our City is hard at work creating a great place to live and work! You can see the results coming into focus throughout 2018.
The City of Fate has invested over $7M in road repairs throughout the City. You have seen better roads in many parts of our City. We will continue our efforts to improve and maintain our roads in 2019 and beyond.
We have made critical investments in our downtown to drive new economic development and create a sense of place for our citizens. The economic development plan is creating exciting restaurants and shops for all of us to enjoy in late 2019 and 2020.
We have expanded the number of DPS officers to keep pace with our growing population. We are one of the safest cities in our area due to the dedication of our DPS team. We are truly blessed!
The Public Works team has grown to ensure our critical infrastructure keeps up with our rapid growth. We are partnering with our utility partners to add new sewer lines and electrical infrastructure to meet your needs. Utilities are being relocated in downtown to better service our current and future businesses.
We have worked hard to keep a rationale tax rate that funds our critical needs as a growing city, while keeping a low tax rate for our citizens. The City of Fate has one of the lowest tax rates, while being the third fastest growing city in the DFW area.
Yes, we have challenges too. The City is committed to partnering with our citizens to help solve our problems. We are not perfect, but we are dedicated to getting better every day!
As we enter the holiday season, I hope your family celebrates and enjoys the peace and happiness of the season. I would like to wish each of you a very healthy and prosperous New Year.
As citizens of Fate, we are all in this together! And indeed, our future is bright!
