Jill Clewis announces run for Rockwall ISD school board, Place 3

ROCKWALL, TX – March 8, 2021 – Rockwall resident Jill Clewis announces she is running for Place 3 on the Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees in the upcoming May 1st election.

“20 years ago, we searched for a small-town community to call home. I knew immediately Rockwall had everything we were looking for to raise a family including an excellent school district where we could send our children to school and see them grow and thrive,” Clewis said.

Jill’s daughter, Elle, is a sophomore at Rockwall High school and her son, Grant, graduated from Rockwall High school in 2014. Grant has since earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Arkansas. Currently he is enrolled in HVAC school to obtain his HVAC license. Jill was able to serve as homeroom mom as well as library and lunchroom volunteer. She was also the treasurer of her son’s hockey league.

Jill obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business and later went back to college and became a Registered Nurse. For 15 years she served as Vice President of Finance for a property management company in which she was part owner. She had the privilege of working on multimillion dollar properties, managing assets, and property budgets. Currently she works as Vice President of Clinical Operations for a Physician Management Company. In this role she oversees budgets, policies, staff development, marketing, along with growth and development.

She has a unique set of talents to offer the school board with her medical background, business acumen, and fresh perspective. If elected she would be honored to dedicate her time to the Board of Trustees. The Rockwall ISD community faces challenges ahead with regards to our schools, students, and teachers. Her objective is to balance what is best for students, teachers, and tax paying citizens, while also being fiscally mindful with a balanced district budget. Her priority is ensuring students are prepared to be self-sufficient productive members of society upon graduation. Expanding the conversations to students “what do you want to do when you grow up” is significantly different from one student to the next.
