Helping Hands Annual Pink Party Social

Join Helping Hands of Rockwall virtually on their Facebook page as Willis Fine Jewelry hosts the Annual Pink Party. The Pink Party for Rockwall County Helping Hands every year raises money for Breast Cancer Awareness. The funds raised from this event benefit the Health Center of Helping Hands with a concentration on women’s health. Proceeds fund mammograms, well-women exams and allow for generalized medical care for women. Financial contributions help provide early detection and prevention of breast cancer in the underserved population in your community.

Come out to the hottest BBQ competition event around at the 2020 Rib, Rub, Run & Roll in downtown Rockwall! Enjoy a fun-filled day in the downtown square with live music; Farmers Market vendors; car show; 5K, 10K and 1-mile family fun run; and a BBQ competition featuring 45 grill teams vying for the title of Grand Champion.

Awards for the IBCA-sanctioned BBQ competition will be announced for the following categories:

  • Brisket
  • Spare Ribs
  • 1/2 Chicken

Awards for the car show hosted by T&T Color Supply will be announced at 1:45 p.m. and include:

  • Mayor’s Award (1st and 2nd)
  • Military VIP (1st and 2nd)
  • People’s Choice (1st and 2nd)
  • Best Paint (1st and 2nd)
  • Best Interior (1st and 2nd)
  • Best Motor (1st and 2nd)
  • Best GM (1st and 2nd)

Receipt Raffle @ Downtown Rockwall

Shop to win during the annual Rib Rub Run & Roll! You can earn raffle tickets just by shopping at your favorite downtown businesses. Spend $25 before tax at any participating business and you’ll receive a raffle ticket. The more you spend the more entries you receive for a chance to win some amazing downtown merchandise!

How it works:
1. Shop at participating businesses displaying the blue poster at entry.
2. Show your receipts at the official Receipt Raffle tent located in the San Jacinto Plaza.
3. Receive a raffle ticket for every $25 spent, before tax.

Raffle entries will be handed out until 5:00pm. Winners will be selected at 5:15pm. Do not have to be present to claim prizes. Winners will be contacted by phone Tuesday, October 6.
Must be 18 to enter.

Rainbow Drum Jam @ The Harbor Rockwall

Musicians and music lovers are invited to participate in the Weekly Rainbow Drum Jam at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday nights at the Rockwall Harbor Amphitheater. The sun setting over Lake Ray Hubbard makes a beautiful backdrop for the weekly jam session hosted by the local reggae/worldbeat group known as Watusi. Bring drums and other instruments, food, and drinks and enjoy the good vibes. Families/children are encouraged to take part! Spectators welcome, too.

Join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas for their NEW format at the Ben Parks Golf Classic at Buffalo Creek Golf Club. A traditional 4 man scramble, this event honors the life of Ben Parks and his commitment to kids through the game of golf. The BGC is proud and excited to host this event and raise money for our Ben Parks First Tee Program and Rockwall Club!

This event will follow all CDC guidelines that are in effect at the date of the event.

Any registrations for the previous April event will be transferred to this rescheduled event!

Shotgun Start at 1pm.
Team of 4: $1000

Kick-off a new tradition with Birdies & Bullets at Boyd Farms on Wednesday, October 14th!

The Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to bring you two classics, together at last, with THE IRON. A three-day celebration of fellowship amongst business leaders.

Out shoot & out drive out in good company with the Iron Cup Classic hosted at Buffalo Creek Golf Club on October 15th and keep the competition going with the Iron Shot Chamber Classic Clay Shoot on October 16th.

This three-day event will bring together the best shots in Rockwall, both from the tee box and the stand. And it all starts with a Pre-Party the Wednesday before.

Aspasians Marketplace is a bi-annual fundraiser to provide Rockwall County scholarships, featuring over 100 merchant booths, food trucks, and fun for the family, all for free!
*Vendors will be strategically placed with hand sanitizing stations to allow for social distancing and best prevent the spread of COVID-19.

 

Kids Day in the Park @ Harry Myers Park

The Rockwall County Historical Foundation is proud to host the 2nd Annual Kids Day in the Park on Saturday, October 17th from 10am – 2pm., at Harry Myers Park. This year’s event will feature wildlife experts from Window to the Wild and Wildlife on the Move.

RCHF will also welcome special guest Tim Brys of the Perot Museum, who will make a presentation on Dinosaurs & Fossils! Additional activities include Gem & Mineral Identification for Kids, Butterflies & Bees with the Master Gardeners, All About Archaeology, and the Kona Ice Truck.

This event is FREE and open to the public. All activities will take place outdoors to allow for social distancing.
