Prizes awarded to overall lifestyle transformation winner

(Rockwall County) The Rockwall County YMCA recently welcomed new Membership and Wellness Director, Liz Jones – a certified yoga instructor, personal trainer and wellness coach with a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and Strategic Management.

To kickoff the post-summer season, Liz and the Rockwall YMCA are hosting a Community Wellness Challenge. 

Are you struggling with barriers that are keeping you from meeting your fitness and wellness goals?  Do you have specific things you would like to change in your life such as adding muscle or losing fat?  Do you want to reduce your risk for heart disease and diabetes?  Do you struggle with self-esteem issues or have habits that you would like support to change?  The Transformation Challenge can offer support and structure while working to reach your goals.

The Transformation Challenge is open to community members – both current and new members – that utilize the Rockwall County YMCA.  There is no charge for members to participate. Registration is open through Friday, Sept. 30 and includes a body composition analysis (body fat percentage, weight, measurements).  The challenge ends Nov. 18.

Prizes will be awarded to the overall Lifestyle Transformation winner, which can be any transformation that the participant felt changed their life to achieve greater wellness.  Some examples could be that they quit smoking, stopped texting while driving, addressed a health issue, got out of an abusive realtionship or stressful situation, got to a healthy weight or became stronger physically or emotionally by adding healthy habits into their life.  Winners will be selected by a panel at the YMCA.  The top prize is a free three-month membership to the Rockwall YMCA along with a prize package with items donated by local businesses.

There will also be a prize for body composition changes (body fat % lost, weight % lost, or lean muscle gained), with a prize of dinner for two at Restaurant Ava .  The most miles and classes logged in our Mobile Fit program for participant during the challenge will receive a $20 gift certificate for the Fatted Calf.  Other prizes from the YMCA and local businesses will be given out to participants in a random drawing.  The first 150 participants will also receive special discounts from local businesses.
