(Rockwall) The September meeting of the Rockwall Area Retired Teachers Association started the year with an outstanding program by local photographer, Nell Welborn, entitled “Cuba in Photographic Splendor.”The spectacular photos showed the people, towns and scenery rarely seen since the 1960s.

The hostesses for the meeting were Mary Harrison, Billie Stevenson, Sherry Wimpee, Monte Huffaker and Ginny Progelhof who served from an autumn themed table.

Six new members were introduced and the book program sponsored by RARTA for children in Rockwall County was explained.

The Oct. 10 meeting to be held at 1:15 p.m. in the RISD Administration Complex is open to all school retirees and their guests. Sheri Fowler will present “Hats and Moore – Fashions of Old Rockwall” and attendees are invited to wear a hat to the meeting to add to the afternoon’s fun.
