Rockwall Women’s League looks ahead to Big Hat Bingo Bash and ‘Waltz Across Texas’ charity ball

The Rockwall Women’s League “Walk Across Texas” 5K/Walk-a-thon drew many participants and volunteers to Harry Myers Park on Saturday, Oct. 22. Rockwall Women’s League thanks everyone involved for helping to contribute to the community. They look forward to seeing everyone at their next two events: The Big Hat Bingo Bash and the annual charity ball, which also benefit local community organizations.

The Rockwall Children’s’ Chorus opened the “Walk Across Texas” festivities with a stirring rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”   Representatives from charities, such as CASA and Helping Hands, which are supported by the Rockwall Women’s League grants, cheered for participants as they ran or walked.

Tonya Miller, of  Heath, won the 5K race; Eric Marvin, of Rockwall, placed 2nd, and Clayton Grimes, of Heath, captured 3rd.

The Big Hat Bingo Bash will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 27, 2012 at Occasions at Stone River in Royse City. The annual charity ball, “Waltz Across Texas,” is scheduled for March 31, 2012 at Black Star Farm.

Rockwall Women’s League supports 33 community agencies through volunteerism and community grants, and provides scholarships to local graduating seniors.  While membership is not required to attend the bingo event or the annual ball in support of our community, ladies interested in membership are welcome at the General Meetings.
