(Wylie ISD) Joei Shermer has been named the new assistant principal at Whitt Elementary in the Wylie Independent School District. Shermer has been the Assistant Principal at Harrison Intermediate School for the past five years, and has 10 years of experience in Wylie ISD.
“It is a difficult decision to leave Harrison as I have thoroughly enjoyed the five years I have served here,” said Shermer. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the Whitt family and extend my realm of experience to include working with younger students and their teachers.”
“We will miss Joei at Harrison but understand this is an opportunity for her to broaden her educational experience,” said Harrison Principal Dr. Kimberly Gilmore. “Our loss is Whitt’s gain.”
A new Assistant Principal for Harrison will be named Nov. 14 and following a transition period, Shermer will begin at Whitt on the Nov. 28.
