Adoptable shelter pets join cast of ‘Annie’

(Rockwall) Adoptable pets from the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center are taking the stage as part of the cast of Annie, the musical spectacular to be presented by the Rockwall Community Playhouse Nov. 25, 26, and 27; Dec. 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11. Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday.

 
**Thursday performances were recently added; show times are 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1 and 8.
 
In the show, Depression-era Little Orphan Annie searches for her parents with her trusty dog, Sandy, and comes under the care of billionaire Daddy Warbucks. Throw in a scheming Miss Hannigan, lots of adorable orphans, and FDR himself, and you get one great show set to great music.

 
The show is directed by Darlene Singleton, assisted by Laura Tate, Madeline Percin, and Felicia Sykes.
Chi Chi the chihuahua plays a small role as an unnamed dog carried by the mailman in 'Annie'.
