(Grapevine) Author and speaker Timothy Penland will autograph copies of his books from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at Merry’s Christmas & Clowns, 309 S. Main St. in historic downtown Grapevine. Books will be available for purchase.
Penland is the author of the “Night Before” series which includes books such as The True Night Before Christmas, The True Night Before Easter, Dorothy and the Good Shepherd, The Night Before Jesus Fed 5,000 Men and more. His most recently published works include The Night Before Patriots Filled the Harbor With Tea, The Night Before Pilgrims Stood on a Rock, The Night Before Jesus Ate with a Thief and The Night Before Jonah Slept in a Fish.
Penland has been writing children’s stories and curriculum for more than 20 years. In 1999, Penland wrote The True Night Before Christmas and dedicated it to his first granddaughter who was about to celebrate her very first Christmas. When the poem was published as book, his 9-year-old granddaughter Savannah became the illustrator.
The “Night Before” series includes both Bible stories and American history stores. Penland also speaks to groups of all ages, including church groups, public and private school groups and a variety of other organizations.
