Boy Scout Nicholas Srygley of Scout Troop 421 serenaded senior residents at Reese Valley Manor in Rockwall Feb. 11, while making a surprise Valentine’s delivery.

Students in Mrs. Alders’ first grade class at Howard Dobbs Elementary School in Rockwall decorated the Valentine’s goody bags shown here on table. Nicholas personally delivered the handcrafted bags to more than 40 doors of the Rockwall Housing Authority’s high-rise for seniors.

He entertained the residents with song and wished them all a “Happy Valentine’s Day!”

The students in Mrs. Alders' first grade class created these gifts from the heart for the residents at Reese Valley Manor.

Barbara Allan, Rockwall Rotary Mentoring Chairman, was on hand to take photos of the delivery to share with the children.

“The students asked to see pictures of the Boy Scout delivering the gifts. They want to put the photos on their bulletin board,” said Barbara, who mentors one of the students in this photo . “It’s the circle of giving and sharing on Valentine’s Day.”
